I work sales for GE healthcare. I am remote and make $57,000. I work 40 hours a week, and I work very hard. Exhausted after shift ends. Am I underpaid? How hard would getting a higher paying remote job be? I am a high performer on my team, no effect on salary however. I have 3 years sales experience but not sure if I want to do it forever.
Are you AE or SDR? Definitely underpaid for AE, probably slightly underpaid for SDR. If you’re underpaid is it because you’re not hitting your quota?
I am AE, assigned to a pretty large number of clients. I easily sell my salary in revenue everyday. I have never missed a quota.
Then you are underpaid. High performing AEs with 1-3 YOE could be getting $150k easily. Try moving into some health-tech company.
Are you actually an inside sales rep, this sounds like all current customers going to you
Honestly I do not know. My title is account executive but I wouldn’t be surprised if that is not an accurate description of my role. I handle sales, setting up service, contracts, billing, and what I think of as “random problem solving”. I am on a first name basis with my clients and I am their go to problem solver. But yeah, no clue where I would fit in.
Are you an inside rep?
If youre working a salaried job and arent making $100k a year, youre underpaid. $100k is 2010’s 50k
You’re saying for graduating top of my class and busting my butt working hard at my first job… I am being ripped off
Often education is an indication of obedience, not success. To get different results from most, you must do different things than most
OP I think you may have hit some sort of Blind record with this poll.
Haha I didn’t realize my post was borderline satire
Do you make commission?
Definitely underpaid.
Even if you are inside sales, you now have enough experience in sales to find another job for a lot more OTE.
What’s your OTE? I know reps lowly paid on the salary scale but more than make up for it with accelerators and upside. As you get into lower churn sales but higher value deals, you’ll either do really well or find a job you can coast in for 300k/year (all in). Key here is coasting. SaaS reps that are really good push 400k regularly.
Underpaid. No questions about it.
