I appeared for Amazon interview last Saturday and made it to the last round. I was then told that the debrief result will be told on Monday but that didn't happen. On Sunday night, the status jumped from "Application submitted" to "Under consideration". It was the next Monday today(1 week after the day I was originally supposed to receive the feedback) and still I have no response from the recruiter as such. The status is also on "Under consideration" since 25th Nov'19. Do the recruiters even update the status on the portal in rejection cases?
So no one's gonna ask, Where does Amazon interview on Saturdays?
SDE 1?
yes
Can i dm you for the interview experience?
This was a holiday week. Delays are inevitable.
I forgot to mention. This is in India and there is no holiday season going on here.
@op be patient, I also got the offer after 2 weeks. I didn't apply through the portal though. So not aware about this status thing.
Yeah but my recruiter is quite unresponsive. She never replies to mails. I had also mailed her before the interview about some queries and she never replied...Tried calling her but to no avail...I have mailed here today...Lets see what happens...Did you get the confirmation call after 2 weeks or are you talking about the offer letter?
Confirmation call.
Weird. Amazon recruitment has an SLA to deliver feedback within 5 business days after on-site. Either something wrong happened to your recruiter or the interviewers. Maybe they are planning to have one more interview session with you because they didn't get enough signals from your on-site.
In the case of 1 more interview, I think they would've mentioned something about it by now...I mean its already past their usual date. The worst part is that my recruiter is also not responsive. I think that is the major reason for all the uncertainty. A little update from them once in a while could prove to be very relieving for the candidate
I think that portal is nothing more than a lead collector for sourcers. I think "under consideration" just means that a sourcer tagged you for that role and that suspends consideration for any other roles unless you are released or withdraw. Otherwise, it never advances to any other status. e.g. I accepted offer and it still says "under consideration". I was never contacted on any of the other roles I applied even though the same level/role.
For me, one application is in pending state (Under consideration) which I applied in 2 weeks after I got rejected for another position. Any idea how long it would be in that state?
I can vouch for this. Mine turned to under consideration when a recruiter reached out to me. After the whole process and me accepting offer, getting background check done, introducing me to my manager, it still says under consideration. Don't look too much into it.
You are probably waiting for somebody else to say yes/no
I am waiting for someone to shed some light on the status thing....someone who might have experienced the same or might have idea about what it is.
I mean they give 1 week for candidate to respond, so if some other candidate doesn't accept the offer they might make you offer instead
