9 years of experience working as a PM. Thinking of making a move to either Amazon / Salesforce / Facebook. Have first round conversations open with all three. Thoughts on choosing between the 3?
Come get your soul crushed
That sounds very tempting. What’s your experience been like?
Don’t even think about Amazon - not a good place for PMs. FB and Salesforce should be good options, IMO.
Be ready to work on old maintenance products at Salesforce
What about Einstein.AI, is it any better with those products?
That is just very non sensical advice. There are tons of new initiatives coming along, and there is no more or no less "bad work" than any other company i.e Facebook, Google, etc. Even if you do land a role that you don't enjoy, we have OOM (internal team switch) that you can avail and have a wide range of options to choose from. If you can tell which clouds you are talking to for PM roles, I can tell you a bit more about them.
Facebook is ok, good comp, long hours, good opportunities for impact
Saw some FB PM was super stressed about the mid cycle reviews. You have 4 reviews per year (2 reg, 2 mid cycle)? Every 3 months?
It’s stressful, not shit. The culture of impact drives a lot of stress and focus on short term outcomes and in my opinion will be FB’s demise
Why not google?
Heroku (part of Salesforce) needs more PMs.
Hello Salesforce! I'm a PM at Amazon (Soon a Sr. PM) and am interested in applying for jobs at Salesforce in Bellevue/Seattle. Would some be willing to refer? Thanks.
Get an offer first. Worry about this later.
Fair point.
