Hi, I have offer from Walmart for IN5 TC 50L (37,9,4rsu/yr). Will Amazon try to match up the offer from Walmart? Or do they have stringent compensation rules driven by YOE and job role etc. Because I am being interviewed for CSE II role which is not SDE. What could be their TC break up? Would you join them if they are honest with you π€£. Companies need to fill their positions, so they try to outsell candidates as much as they can. Anyways amazon is not a very ethical company when it comes to employee satisfaction.
I agree and Walmart is not a reward either :) only reason to go for Amazon is AWS exposure. It's going to open door for me many other opportunities in cloud domain. But I don't want to join at the cost of getting extremely low balled

I would say take Walmart role and enjoy. Premium Support vs SWE profile, it's a straight forward choice. I don't think AWS can match the TC for CSE-2 role. It ranges between 21-32 base max.
Even though Walmart title says staff sw engineer it's an ops role and there are less chances of moving to cloud architect roles. I guess they won't use AWS being a competitor of Amazon
But if Amazon can match TC with sign on n stocks I would definitely give it a try.

Yes that's the plan actually, get AWS skills and move to higher roles. How about team change culture in Walmart? Is it encouraged? I am very keen to learn automation

Compensation is below avg for Walmart staff. You could easily get 70 lpa for Walmart staff. Don't join amazon at L5 band. AT 11 YOE, L5 does not make any sense. Anyways staff software profile is much better than aws cse2 (it will be on call heavy).
