Hi guys, I got sde offer for AWS in the Bay Area and Nike in Oregon. Which one should I pick considering the recession? Amazon: 210k Nike: 150k AWS Pros: learn a lot, brand name on resume, lots of money and room to growth Cons: pip, stress, long hours Nike Pros: relaxed, nice campus Cons: people are very laid back. May not learn a lot there and slow growth
Avoid Amazon till the time you feel you are a perfect genius in handling technical work and bad politics together. Both the combos need to be strong. Once you reach that level of expertise in both, move to Amazon.
This is the best piece of advice !
Avoid Amazon, lots of unstability in short term
Can you elaborate more?
I picked Amazon because it will be better for your future, even if you end up getting laid off
Totally depends on what kind of a person you are, me and a friend of mine both chose amazon, he is loving the stress and i am looking my way out ever since day1
Nike winning this poll lmao
you come work with us once and you will know why
I have worked at Amazon before
Dunks vs bananas...
Depends on the teams you would be joining. On average though Nike is really chill. The company policy of half-day summer fridays is the tip of the iceberg. Factoring in COL and those offers aren’t that far from each other.
My only concern is it takes too long to get promotes at Nike
You will never be promoted at Nike. You’ll have an inside edge to applying to other roles though, that’s how Nike “promotes”
Nike has earned global respect as a well-run company. Not sure why you think you wouldn't learn there. Congrats on opening doors to two blue chip opportunities! Good luck making the most of whichever one you choose.

Learning can be independent of company. If you good wlb and stability, you can also take side projects and learn a lot.
