Amazon Applied Scientist Team Match
Hi, got email from recruiter with positive news after virtual on-site for applied scientist role with Alexa teams. But mentioned that I’d have to wait for team matching. How long for team match? Don’t the interviewing teams hire the candidate after giving positive feedback? TC-118k YOE - 3.5 PS- what comp to expect/ask for? Or is it too early to think about offer given that I need to clear teammatching
Do you have PHD? Also was your prior role pure research and publish papers?

Whats is the role of AS? Just publish papers or actually build and test models?
From what I understand AS try to own end-end except post production support. Pick a problem to work on, propose/build solution, deploy it, collect relevant metrics (A/B) and iterate. At least this is what my interviewers told me.
Happened to me as well. Means hiring manager didn’t say Ok but bar raiser did. Congrats! You are in.
Also if you know and want to work with someone inside Amazon tell them you passed and you are looking for team match. They might be willing to hire if they have opening.
