According to Business Insider, Amazon plans to reduce employee stock awards in 2025. Any thoughts how would it impact other companies? Will they follow?
This isn’t going to impact other companies. The market will though, and right now it’s saturated. There is no need for companies to be competitive in hiring or retaining employees. They all will cut as deeply as they can before causing employees to strike or unionize.
Yes, it’s based on 15% yoy increment only when the stock was going up. So, they could say they cannot increase the comp. We will know the target comp increment this year for real
I feel it will be more of cash to meet the target compensation. Most of the banks have that compensation. Equity compensation in FAANG has been a hot topic among the hedge funds and top investors and they would like to see less dilution. I believe google and others would definitely rethink about their own compensation structures
Amazon has never given cash from what I have known
This is better than layoffs. I’d rather earn less during stormy times than earn nothing.
It’s probably going to move to base only, with a small bonus. Just like any other company but don’t expect Netflix type of comp in banana 🍌 world
I highly doubt Amazon will be able to get good talent with low pay and pip culture
Amazon isn’t worried about good talent. Just people who can keep the place running until they find someone else.
