Lately I have been receiving many emails from merchants for testing the Amazon products for free and posting review comments and the merchant will refund in the form of Amazon Gift Card or using Paypal, is this something legal? Is it ok to test these products if you are on a visa? #visa #immigration #amazon #workvisa #h1b
It's not illegal as long as review is fair and unbiased.
It is against Amazon's terms of service. They changed it a few years ago and so now they ban your account for posting paid reviews. Not worth the risk. https://www.andybeal.com/amazon-paid-reviews/#:~:text=Amazon's%20terms%20of%20service%20have,in%20return%20for%20monetary%20compensation.
Rate them 1
Rate it 5, take the bribe, re-rate it 1 then update with info on the bribe on the review
I am an amazon seller. Against my best interest, I refuse to buy reviews. My competitors from a certain communist country do not have this qualm. Am I getting review-dumped by them a lot? Yes. Are they launching inferior products with 1000 reviews in a week? Yes. Is it a good idea? No. It’s immoral and illegal for them (and you - this is a form of fraud being investigated by the FTC) and against amazon tos as they will 200% want you to give them 4-5 star. Do you really want to help scammers (invariably from china) sell an inferior/unsafe product to american consumers at the expense of local economy and public safety for a few bucks worth of junk/money? It is pretty much only done to give 1-2 star products a false sense of 4-5 star value. Some of these products will kill or hurt people. A whole billion dollar company was removed from Amazon after it was found they did this review fraud. They sold electrical components such as wall chargers and power bricks that were potentially hazardous. If you are cool with you or a random child/family potentially burning to death because of your review for a $25 gift card - By all means!
