https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/shopping/2024/04/02/amazon-fresh-ditches-just-walk-out-technology/73183285007/ Has Amazon go been abandoned? It was really cool technology when I went in one of the stores. I worked on this team and sad to see there’s no future for the product
Is it really AI? Or is it just dudes overseas staring at cheap monitors?
Hopefully dilips standup comedy act is better than jwo.
Has to be because one time I managed to steal a candy bar from one
Your FBI just entered the chat
Amazon Go is just a bunch of Indians in India watching you through cameras
Noooo, I love the Just Walk Out tech. I have an Amazon Fresh down the street from my gym and use it all the time. Far better experience than a traditional grocery store
They’ll be ditching it because the dirty little secret is that they can’t afford the army of annotators needed to provide this semblance of magic. Ironically, most of the 2010s AI involves a “mechanical Turk”
Are they still licensing the tech or is that also shutdown ?

Who are these retards asking for dictatorship in India?
The future seems much more likely to be a shopping cart with a built in scanner. That's 90% less infra costs and much easier to deploy into existing stores.
Walmart tried and failed. People don't want to scan anything, at least until they're done. That's the appeal of Amazon Go. I guess the overhead of preparing items to work with their cameras is just too much.
I'd use it. Maybe not for Walmart customers but Whole Foods, PCC, maybe others.
