Amazon used to be known for exponentially growing HC then layoffs happened. I am curious about what will happen this year or next year. Are they hiring? Only backfills? More layoffs? Hoping someone from Amazon with some more knowledge could jump in. Thanks!
The beatings will continue until morale improves
The beatings will continue until the market starts punishing employee abuse. Right now they love it
They are trying to reduce HC exponentially by all means ( PIP, rollout of unfavorable policy, forced RTO with weird tracking)

What do you think is wrong with a kid who got rejected by 9 colleges?
They're resetting comp expectations. Layoff, fire, and make it unlivable so people leave. Average tenure at Amazon is low so it's only a short amount of time until they cycle through a lot of people. Half life for an engineer is 18-24 months or so.
