While answering behavioral questions, is it okay to use the same story to bring out different traits of leadership principles?
Recruiter’s advice was to avoid doing that, so I prepared different examples from my career and it was going well, but at one point I had a story that fit perfectly the question, except that I had used it before, so I said that out loud, and the interviewer said it’s ok, just say it again. So I guess if it’s just one, they’ll let it pass.
Btw, my recruiter gave me a very helpful tip, which is to take the notes you’re using to prepare for the LP to the actual interview. You can use them as a reference to quickly remind you of a situation you’re trying to recall to answer a behavioral question. You should just write down keywords related to each situation, so that just by a quick glance, you can recall a whole situation.
When I interviewed, I retold some stories (6 interviewers back to back; same team save one) - in slightly different ways and with slightly different emphases, based on what characteristic the interviewer was asking about. I was told by my recruiter that telling the same story to different interviewers was fine - really just demonstrate that you understand what they are actually asking about.
No do not do that. During debrief using the same story comes up.
Completely fine to repeat 1 of the same scenarios, but spin it towards the LP they are interviewing for. Avoid repeating the same scenario for all the interviewers though. You want to show depth of experience throughout your career and staying on the scenario doesn’t achieve that.
It depends upon your years of experience. If you have 8+, you should have multiple stories and repeating should be avoided.

It totally depends on the situation. If the example is the best example for the question asked, go with it. https://www.rooftopslushie.com/request/Senior-Product-Manager-at-Amazon---Interview-question-1074
