Was at the end of technical interview, he asked if I had any questions about Amazon, so asked him generic culture bs and for one of the answers he said "I don't recommend getting hired here, it changes your life in ways most would view as bad". We had an awkward laugh and then got off the call Pretty funny to look back and kudos to him for being real with me, but it seems to be a common theme with their employees which is unfortunate TC: 220k
Sounds like me. Love the honesty. Would make me want to work there tbh.
Yeah lol, why would you want to join Amazon from Google and ruin your health?
I asked the Google interviewer explicitly because it seemed it was a meh interview. He answered similar, that he didn't like his coworkers.
Actually, the interviewer is too humane for an Amazon employee. In Amazon, back stabbing and throwing coworkers under the bus are pretty common. Ex-Amazon here
Not every team. But Ive only been here 10 years so maybe have been lucky.
💀☠️ saved you
I'd be curious to know how it changes a person's life. I can make guesses but would love to have it spelled out.
Hey, an honest interviewer. I think that is something you should celebrate. While it’s only one datapoint, it’s nice to be able to make decisions eyes wide open
