What’s good to consider? Amazon L6 with good scope and less TC - 320k (200k base) Vs Staff at Series E in a very small team and more TC - 550k (320k base) No issues with my team, challenging work and have a decent work life balance. But always have the fear of stack rank and getting pipped. I feel like I’d be more valued in a small environment as I am not very confident about being loud in the org
Can you name the series E?

Congratulations on the offer, OP! Without a more detailed breakdown of the offer, we can’t really say if it’s a better decision to stay or leave. Unless it’s a significantly higher base in cash and not paper stocks that won’t pan out, then it may not be worth the risk of leaving, especially in this market where high interest rates and a lack of free money means that startups are in survival mode. Normally I would advocate for leaving Amazon, but I wouldn’t take the risk on a Series E startup in this market, unless they have a world class product and a good runway to funding in case of anything. There’s also the risk of joining as a new hire and being on the chopping block for layoffs, whereas at least Amazon you’re tenured enough to avoid PIP without seriously messing up (at least you would hope so). I would seriously weigh the risk of leaving Amazon towards joining the startup, especially since IPO is highly unlikely. Good luck! TC: 105K
