Question to the people who moved to US from India as L5 and then got promoted to L6. How many additional RSUs you got. Does Amazon makes sure your compensation is at par with the people who joined directly at Seattle on L6 level? TC: 210 Yeo: 7
Promo comp never relates to new hire comp. They should promo comp of existing employees in your region though
Really? I heard people get very few RSUs when they get promoted to L6. Amazon do not even match with existing employees. Only base is matched. Do you have first hand experience?
Nah I'm not in the category you mentioned m, but from what I've read, a promotion puts you at bottom-middle of the band in your new level. Baring large stock growth, new hires at a level will almost always make more than newly promoted people because they can often negotiate and most ppl do not negotiate promo comp
Any answers blinders 🤔
Purely from promo comp perspective, new promotees will land at the bottom of the band of the new level (doesn’t matter if you’re an international transfer or local employee). But external hires will usually be above the minimum based on the hiring philosophy (new hires should raise bar at level)
