I currently work at MSFT. I’m an L62, I’m almost done with my MBA and want to figure out if it’s more lucrative to leave and go to Amazon. What do MBA hires get offered there? Stock, base, etc? Basically my next move needs to be much more lucrative
Mba at uw and su are worthless. You wont get a salary bump
Where do you have your Mba from?
Generally top 10-15 programs... full time.
So do you really think somebody will just start paying you more because you got some MBA? So naive... In my previous team in MS we had a vendor girl with MBA who did some manual boring work which engineers/managers did not want to do.
This will never happen to someone with a top 10 MBA. But otherwise, you can hire MBAs for cheap, results wise, they are worse than good undergrads.
MBA teaches you to bark BS without real knowledge and use jargons, mumbo jumbo to make yourself feel superior. Plus, keep harping "oh that guy in my cohort is now the Cxx of this.. that.." Src: work with 4 PMs on team who are from top 5 B schools.
MBA grads get ~120k base, 55k sign in vesting in 2 years, 80k stock grant vesting in 4 years. You can expect to get like 140k-160k for the first year and more later on depending on your individual performance + stock performance
Thank you @bracket that’s actually the answer I was looking for
NP. I don't understand the MBA bashing from other replies lol
Don’t think you get more money just because you now have an MBA. With part time MBA, it’s about leveraging the program/network in the program to get better access to better paying jobs (referrals, inside scoop via network)
Depends on what you do at Microsoft
