Hey, i know there are lots of threads about this sort of stuff but i recently got an offee from Amazon for Sr Product Manager and wanted to know how reasonable it is overall. its for seattle. Base: $153k SoB: 62k / 53k RSU: 80 Seems like a final offer, this was after some negotiations
Interesting didn't know SoBs could be that high!
Tech or non-tech?
@PwC how many years experience
Non tech, and 9 years
FWIW, my offer was a bit higher with a bit less experience. L6, senior pm, non-tech in Seattle: Base: 157 Bonus: 90 / 73.5 Rsu: ~100
Mmm 40k is not a little bit higher though, wonder if maybe I didn’t “interview” as well
Damn Amazon out here lowballing with ferocity
Are they?
I mean if it's a good bump from where you're at then it's a good bump. If you really have 9yoe in product though that's a flaming turd of an offer.
I mean the sign on and RSUs are a lot, but $150k is very very low base salary for a Sr. Product Manager. Also, it is very hard to hit L7 and even if you do, your comp won’t reflect it. Amazon is kind of built for 2 and out. If you need this role on your resume (you’ll likely be set for life with 2 years at Amazon as a sr. PM) the take it, enjoy the ride and move on. You’ll have a hard time making a career out of it if you go in that low. Best of luck. Be safe and have fun.
Thank you very much! I really appreciate your feedback and think you are right! I will give it a try and see how it all pans out. No one will be holding me there for life so worst case I can always move
Overall, a total comp of about 217-Ish is ok?
