Amazon Onsite Interview Result

I had my Amazon virtual onsite last week. It's been a week after the onsite, I haven't heard anything from the recruiter after the interview. I contacted the recruiter but no response so I contacted the coordinator (who is very responsive) and got replied saying she also contacted the recruiter about the outcome and they will have an answer within the next few days. I have seen online that hires are informed mostly soon while the rejects are left hanging for a long time. job application status is still "under consideration" Should I expect rejection? or since the status is still showing under consideration, do I have any chance? Does anybody share any similar experiences or insights regarding this? Thank you TC: 70K YOE: 5 #amazon edit: added poll eidt2: moving on, after 2 weeks mark from the onsite.

Expect rejection and move on. Never good to hold onto things that are not in your control and stress yourself out.

Agree with ipql58. Always expect rejection and move on.

The real question here is. Do you really want to work for Amazon?

No you really don't

They may not have had a chance to meet for debrief. There is no reason to ghost if it is rejection. It could also be a downlevel and looking for a team in need of downlevel engineer.

Amazon generally have a 2/5 response time. 2 days response time for phone interview result 5 days response time for onsite

Promising, not always true

I don’t know which “subsidiary” you interviewed for but after the interview panel everyone has a short period of time to provide feedback. The SLA for a decision is 5 days, and then the incline to hire or decline to hire decision goes to the hiring manager. You should have a few different points of contact to reach out to. It doesn’t go against you to just ask.

Thanks for the input, I contacted coordinator who was very responsive, week after the loop, she also contacted recruiter but I guess no reply yet. I'll ping the coordinator again next week!

You have no control. Focus on what you can control.

Intel anonymouz7 Apr 1, 2022

You are rejected until one day you receive an email saying you are accepted. You did your interview and your job is done. 3 possibilities. None of them are worth waiting for! They will definitely reach out if they want you. They may reach out if they don’t want you. They won’t reach out if they definitely don’t want you!

That sucks, and I’m sorry you had this experience. You should have a response in 2-3 business day’s. Can you DM me the name of your recruiter, so I can have a word with them? I’m a Bar Raiser myself, so these things really annoy me.

I work at Amazon, and to see this comment on the board is extremely impressed. Obviously self evident you are a BR, thank you!
