have an amazon onsite in 2 weeks what are the pros and cons of each? if i use a laptop will they execoct the code to compile wnd me to come up with test casea amd make sure it passes them? what kind of ide will i get? my handwriting is horrible so i dont want to do whiteboard
I have terrible handwriting but I have an offer from amazon all whiteboard more about explaining your code and being good at solving/designing
same
Whiteboard. They wont be able to compile, and when they point out an error you can use that as a hint and correct your code while blaming it on bad handwriting !!
You are expected to compile code. If you have faster typing speed then go for laptop.
Do you interview and expect that? I've found it should be close but you can take some liberties like assume you have access to some libraries/classes you'd have to import
Nothing like that. Totally depends on the person. Stress on leadership principles and make sure that the interviewer understands your solution before you start coding/
The recruiter said I could bring my laptop but when I got there everyone expected paper or whiteboard.
No one will compile your code or expect it to compile. Always go for laptop IMO since you can type faster than you write and time is of the essence
Had an on-site the other week and they didn't expect my code to compile or for me to write test cases. They had me write code and then asked me to walk then through how it worked and pros/cons of the approach
Thanks! Thatβs a relief. How difficult were the coding questions if you donβt mind me asking?
Leetcode easy and medium. Nothing crazy. I did get one JavaScript question that was challenging but it's something the interviewer made up so that would be dependent on interviewer I guess
