I got PIP’d (believe the horror stories) Amazon managers are the worst of the industry! I got pipd. I’m concerned about new jobs. Should i tell them my termination was as a result of pip? If i say i was laid off, can it backfire? Also, has anyone ever sue Amazon for this PIP shit #amazonpip #tech
OP, don't tell anyone you got PIPed. There is no way for them to find out why you left. If asked, just say you left voluntarily.
Thank you
I’ve had the best luck just saying I was part of the reductions in force. It’s simple and technically correct. The best kind of correct. I’ve had interviewers get turned off instantly when I said I resigned. If I say RIF’d they just go “how awful, I’m so sorry” and we move on.
Amazon sucks OP. Just say you left on good terms to your new employer. Regarding suing, I don’t its worth the headache. Focus on finding a new and better job and move on from the Amazon hell hole.
Sueing is a pretty fruitless effort. Amzn has a whole legal team on retainer for this. They will just keep you in legal limbo until you run outta money or patience. I was a l6 manager up until a week ago with 4 years at Amazon and I can tell you that most managers are putting you in focus only to get you into pivot as fast as possible. Personally I have never out any in pivot and I have pulled out a few team members out of focus. But know I didn't put them in focus as I internally inherited them and gave them a attainable plan to get of focus. So in essence of your manager really cares they will give you a plan a d truly coach you through it. If not they will do the bare minimal and document everything they say to you. I been reading some tactics of people just coasting until they get a pivot option and then they immediately go on fmla.
I am in a similar boat ( resigned in active focus), don't bring it up unless they asked specifically. (I doubt other companies are legally allowed to). It won't come up in BGC, so unless you really wanted to tell them , don't. And +1, Amazon is probably the most toxic environment I ever worked for.
I shade the truth; I tell them that I was let go as part of the RIFs along with about 18,000 of my closest friends. Which is not far from the truth; being an old-timer I'm sure they went through the PIP process as a CYA paper trail to stave off any age-discrimination action.
Thank you
Just say your role was eliminated. I believe June is also the last date for people affected by April layoffs. Easy to blend in.
unless you told them, legally both parties your new company and Amazon were not allowed to public this information, at least in Australia. BTW I am in the same boat, the new company did not even ask why I left.
Lol go sue and continue digging your grave 🤡 You got PIPed cause instead of working you were shitposting on Blind. I have never seen an undeserved PIP. The process at Amazon works. Period.
Its gonna get to you. I promise
If it does I would deserve it. 95% of the company isn't on PIP but you are. Why is that? We both know the real answer
