I got piped and I took option 2 to improve at amazon and it was unsuccessful. I am now applying outside now , will the recruiters outside have this info of me being piped and unsuccessful ? No, we get start date/end date and title once you accepted the offer. (Background verification of employment). But be ready to have an answer for your departure from job during interview process.
Does title include level?
No it doesn’t. But if you call yourself a director on your resume and you were a sr manager it may disqualify you.
They won’t know. Amazon will only confirm your employment timeframe, they won’t give any other details
The only things that external companies get in a background check is your title, start and end dates- nothing else
Just say that you were laid off or left for better opportunities….. your employer cannot discuss PIP exit and the PIP Factory produce a lot of these!
I'd just put an option on Linked showing recruiter that I am open for new opportunities, you don't need to reveal anything else ... if they ask you why you are changing .. just say you want to look for new opportunity Keep in mind PIP can be a political thing .. it does mean always you are not doing well
Being on a PIP plan at Amazon will not affect employers outside Amazon. As a matter of fact, employers can be held liable if they slander you to future employment by other firms. Furthermore, the Amazon PIP process is designed to get rid of employees. At this point, you should focus on interviewing for Jobs outside of Amazon because now you can start over with a new organization.
