What is the difference in compensation between a Principal Product Manager (PPM-T) vs a Sr. Manager Product Management? Both are L7. @amazon
PPMT is individual contributor, Sr Mgr PMT is the managing equivalent (make sure it says tech, thatโs 15% different TC) If you want to manage other PMs go for Sr Mgr, if you want to do product management go for PPMT. TC bands are ~10% in favor of manager.
Thanks for the info. I meant PM-T not PM. Whatโs confusing is, there are PPM-Ts who manage other L6 PMs but their title remains PPM-T and not Sr Manager. Amazon job titles seem all over the place. And then there are VPs managing VPs, directors managing directors, PPM-Ts managing other PPM-Ts, list goes on... Its almost like in order to keep levels low they just end up stacking the same levels up LOL
If I had to guess, Sr. manager makes 0-20% more than principal IC. I could be wrong though
