Need help to evaluate an offer for L6 Sr PMT, Seattle TC for 1st yr: 315k. Considering current market, and competition I was told there is no room for negotiation. YOE- 11, 9 in Product Thoughts? #pm #product #productmanager
Congrats! How did you get the interview OP?
It's not bad, you could probably get somewhere in the 350-380 ballpark without escalations if I had to guess. Few years ago I got 356k L6 PMT-ES which is a slightly higher pay band, but they've also increased bands since then. Good luck, and think twice if you have other offers. The culture is rough.
I know ES is around 10% higher.. they tried to bump bt request got denied so there is no room for negotiation, i have no other offers.
I am PM L6 ES with 3 years work experience in AWS post my MBA. I got $258 TC this year. At current stock price my comp is abominable. I joined post MBA and can be a complete idiot so donāt want you to base your judgement on what I am making but yes - your comp looks quite good to me. Also the culture is fucking rough
OP, have you figured out how Amazon values the RSUs ? Ask the recruiter ..its a fun exercise....always go for higher base salary than higher sign on bonus. What's your base salary? I could tell you where in the band do you fall. Btw, that TC looks good for Seattle. You could hit the 400 mark if you change location to SF, NY...HCoL locations
Yeah Austin is MCOL too. So Seattle for L6 PM-T base is between $150k to $215. So you are definitely close to the top end of base for Seattle. Moving to SF or NY would bump it by about 15%. Edit: corrected my numbers for high end. The theory is that new hires are better.than 50% of those already there. So you should be at least 50% penetrated into the band , which look like you are already. So, now it is up to you to.nefotiate your way up. There is room
Yes, I know there is room bt due to current market n upcoming layoffs at amzn, they don seem to be open for a negotiation. Do u have suggestions? I have no competing offer.
Itās a good offer for Seattle. Upper end of band.
I got 340k for Sf in Dec which I didnāt accept. Change to nyc or California should bump that tc up ( in case you have preference )
Think wisely before joining, mental health and family life is very important. Itās a shithole
Do you know if thatās the case in Amazon as a whole? Interviewing for a position at Audible as we speak - is the culture different there or pretty much the same as Amazon itself?
Itās above the middle of the band. Be aware that is going to be your pay for the next 3 to 4 years. No additional salary or RSUs in coming years. Also promo is 4 to 5 years away. Given so many politics it may not even happen until you move teams. Importantly, Amazon is a horrible work culture. No peace in life. Sr PMT ES here. Actively working towards getting out of this shit hole.
So it Amazon hiring now? OP can you give any insights on this?
How the F did you get an external offer while Amazon layoff many PM-Ts and HM not even consider internal candidates?
Amazon is hiring?
