Amazon RSU

I had to delay my joining date at Amazon by a few weeks. I received the revised offer letter with the new joining date from my recruiter saying that: "You will still be eligible for a performance review and merit increase beginning in April 2020, but you will not start becoming eligible for additional RSU grants as part of your performance review until April 2021". Previously I was eligible for RSU grants in April 2020. The reason mentioned was that I will be missing the cutoff date to be eligible for performance-based RSU grant. My question is: What is the typical performance-based RSU grant at Amazon? How much am I going to lose financially due to this delay? TC: 250k

Most good companies allows you to take leave soon after joining. I have done that . If you are serious about joining Amazon, my suggestion would be that you join them on the condition that you would need to be on leave. This cools down the nerves of HM and HR. With you saying that I would delay my joining, they just assume you are still looking for better deals and try to make your late joining as difficult as possible.

They are on-board with my 2-week delay. The delay happened due to delay on their side in filing my paperwork.

Cool! Then it’s sad mate :( Hope you can negotiate some benefit in terms of bonus or base salary.

Amazon refreshes are super small unless you get a promo. I wouldn’t lose sleep over this.

Same here. I have been told you should have worked for 49 weeks that year to be eligible for the grants.

Yeah. Your 2020 grant would have been 0 anyways.

Were you able to negotiate bonus/salary as a result of delayed performance based RSUs?
