East Asian Men don’t talk to me bc I’m Vietnamese
Good evening folks! My son joined Amazon last week and he does have RSUs as part of his package. The first set vests after a year. While I do understand that he won’t get anything right now by way of stocks, wanted to check if any Amazonians could share where he can see the proof that the grant has been given to him at least. For example: At my last job at Juniper even if your first vesting was after a year, they’ll set you up with an E*trade where you see your initial grant and what tranches vest at what dates. He has asked the question to his recruiter too but wanted to check if anyone had any insight. The recruiter will probably only respond next week. Thank you in advance. TC - NIL (Retired) YOE - 36
I’m sure it’s the standard vest offer for new hires. 5% at 12 months 15% at 24 months 20% at 30 months 20% at 36 months 20% at 42 months 20% at 48 months
No idea, but happy for you and your son.
Thank you.
He will see it on an internal Amazon stock site n fidelity/Ms after a few weeks (mine took 5 weeks after start). The lead time is annoying but meh
Why are you asking on behalf of your son? He’s an adult he should be able to handle his own finances.
This has nothing to do with finances. It is about how a company’s grant process works. It’s his first job and he doesn’t know how soon the grant becomes visible at Amazon. Also, he isn’t interested in joining any more social media than what he already uses. At least not for now. So he isn’t on this site.
You sound like a great dad
Tell him to visit Leetcode instead of looking at the brokerage account. Most people don't make it to 2 years and won't see 95% of that grant anyway.
Probably the first dad I have come across on blind asking this type of question
Probably would take around one to two months. And then list the stocks, as well as vesting period. By looking at the answers, I can't believe people talk down/ bullshit instead of answering the question.
Thank you! Yes, seen a couple of strange folks in the comments indeed.
May I ask politely that, are you from east asian???(China or..) Feel like I go back to China when I saw your post.......
however the question itself is meaningful .
No. From Oklahoma.
5% 15% 40% 40% over 4 years realistically he won't see 80% of it
But he gets compensated year 1 and 2 with cash to compensate
We know what percentage he gets at what time. What I mean to ask is - where do we see proof that the grant has been given to him? Do they set you up with some sort of brokerage account where you see the grant and the vesting schedules?
