Is it a good decision to join Amazon as an SDE1 with 2 years of experience? I have a competitive offer from Expedia as well (albeit a bit less in compensation) but reading about Amazon work culture here on Blind is making me crazy. My team in Amazon is ES Tech, based in hyderabad and I'm not sure about the team and the work so far. Any suggestions would be helpful. #engineering #software #swe #amazon #faang #expedia #sde #sde1 #sde2
How was your interview feedback? If it was good then push for SDE2. SDE1 for 2 YOE is not good.
My feedback was decent. I asked for sde2 interview process but they said experience is less.
In that case turn down amazon and go for Expedia or better keep looking for more opportunities. Also amazon might give you a counter offer when you turn them down.
No
May I request you to please share your reasoning as well.

Question about women in their 30’s?
It's completely fine to join with 2~3 years of experience. I have seen many folks joining with prior experience. Talk to your manager to fast track your promo and finish some good projects. Make sure you are raising the bar of SDE2 and performing equalor more than them
Thank you so much. And should I be worried about the Hire to Fire situation?
is fast tracking promotion realistic? i've not seen anyone promoted before 1.5 years. anyone you've seen, @amazon?
