Amazon Selling Partners & Services Team

Hi guys, I currently have an L4 offer from Amazon (down-leveled from L5), and I was matched with the Amazon Selling Partners & Services team, which is part of the Amazon Marketplace department. I was wondering if anyone has experience with this team or a similar team in Amazon Marketplace and what the culture / work-life balance / growth & mentorship are like on this team. They want a response from me within the next day or 2, but it's hard for me to decide because I don't know what the other teams are like, so I have no basis for comparison. If I were to try to explore other teams for a better match, does anyone have advice on the best way to do so? I don't want to burn a bridge with this team just because I want to explore other teams. And I know the team rematching process can take a while, so I'm wondering if it's worth it. I don't mind not being on a team for a few months if it means I can find a better opportunity for career growth / WLB. Any feedback would be appreciated, thanks guys! #amazon #culture

How did you get matched? Been "downleveled" for over a month

I got matched within a week by the same team I interviewed for as an L5, just as an L4 role, so I think I just got lucky that my initial team match was looking for L4s. Not sure what the process is like if your initial recruiter doesn't find you a match, but I imagine you just look for openings yourself and send them to your recruiter?

Marketplace team is a cakewalk especially as an L4 and you can easily change after 6-12 months if you want to try a different team. There's always a ton of movement on those teams after a year anyways.

That's good to know, thanks! Do you know if it's a good team for promoting to L5 quickly, in terms of growth opportunities / performance reviews?

I've seen people promote to L5 in 12-18 months if they exceed. A lot of it depends on the manager. However overall I would day they promote faster than most other teams at Amazon.

Don’t think of being promoted early at amazon

Channel Factory wkdksiwosn OP Oct 5, 2020

Really? I heard it heavily depends on your team/manager.

I managed a team of l4 and L5, trust me it’s hard. Yes it depends on the manager but amazon is designed to keep you lower level lower pay.
