Just had a recruiter write back and ask my salary expectations. I asked her the level and was going to go off salary for product manager in levelsfyi. She asked specifically for a range for my TC expectations. I was going to anchor 320 but thinking of 280-350 range? Btw This is in accounting division of amazon and located in DC area. TC 140 YOE 13 #tech
Thanks. I’ll report back once I discuss it with her
200 is near the top for a program manager. Product would be higher.
“I expect fair compensation commensurate for someone with my skills and experience.”
I went with this and gave a range around 250. She came back with 185. I’ll tell her to let me know when a role that matches my qualifications become available
Its not worth it for me. Considering it will be rsu heavy and base will be peanuts.
If it’s a Principal Program Manager your range likely will be fine.
Project or program managers are on a lower pay scale than PMs, so it's incorrect to anchor to those data points on levels.fyi. Your anchor point sounds more like a PMT in SF/Seattle, so you'd have to discount it twice for a project manager in VA; unless you killed it in the loop and they really want you. Else, 185-200 sounds about right.
Thanks. I guess i should shoot after PMT roles.
Haven’t heard of a Project manager but if it’s a program manager, comp will be around 200k for non tech and tech program manager can go up to 300k if you negotiate well
If its senior (L6) is can go up to 400k in the bay area and probably 320k or even slightly higher in lower col
