G'day, have spent the last month going through the recruitment process, 2 online tests, flew to a nice city for 2 nights, and successfully completed the 1/2 day interviews. Now moved onto the phone call with the potential line manager, and now I'm with the offer dude. 20+ years in IT, as a software developer (built small start ups & worked in large orgs), last 7 years as a team leader / technical project manager (many to all projects delivered with success), mainly large scale teams in public and private sectors. currently making 280K TC. The dude mentioned level 6 with 20 years experience, and asked me to put an amount forward, I came in at 310k + super, shares & bonuses... think the american packaging is a bit different. Either way he wants a phone hook up, If I am packing up and moving to the USA it needs to 10 to 20% minimum more than what I am on now,... can I push for level 7? I have reported into CIO's / executive levels. Guidance appreciated, cheers.
You can push for 7 but if they interviewed you as a 6 you'll have to go through the process again. I will say you should push for 7 hard. Getting promoted from 6 to 7 is EXTREMELY difficult
It was never made clear what level they were interviewing me for...the comment was only dropped yesterday. Guess I need to position myself and remind the offer maker of my experiences.
You should settle for nothing less than 2b base with 12b rsu vesting every minute
Definitely push for more if you can. I moved from Melbourne seven years ago and I'm still kicking myself for not having pushed harder for a higher level.
ok so issued offer at present is looking like 160k + 90k (year 1 signing), then 160k + 70k (year 2 signing), then I guess the shares kick in to make up the 20k difference?? + relocation choice of lump sum or a managed package. Trying to get my head around to whole year 1 and year 2 thing, doesn't look like there is a year 3+ signing payment, not common in my home country. At this point unsure if its viable...
apart from this this should have given you RSUs, which will vest 5%,15%,40%,40% for 4 years in this order, i can estimate RSU from signing bonus For time being just think like you will have RSU worth of $200k
So should I view this as an additional 200k over 4 years?
How the the nego go and final offer ?
The final offer was a level 6 250k package.
Did u accept it?
L6 TPM tops out at 260 including shares, no super & bonuses. L7 tops out at 380 including shares
Thanks for the range indicators.
That's a huge difference
