Oh snap! This person says they worked in an Amazon warehouse and Bernie Sanders is right to target your company. You guys at Amazon agree? https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=18005207
Bernie is right.
This needs to change. And can easily be changed. Amazon should not be resisting this. Cut some salaries at the top management and make money for this.
Forcefully paying someone higher than their productivity only ends up in one exit. Pay them more in short team and eventually replace them with robotics. Increasing pay is not the solution. If they could get higher pay else where, there should leave Amazon and join another company. They are not leaving or Amazon can easily find the replacement tell me that workers are not productive enough to get higher pay.
I don't think you can get higher productivity from people. And there is no need. Spend more on people by either hiring more people or by reducing the work one person is doing. Cut expenses up top, not down below. It's not like silicon valley for everyone where you can have n offers lined up each willing to pay more than the other. No one's dream was to work at a warehouse, you don't have to punish them for not being able to get the same opportunities and education as you. There is no reason to not be kind and compassionate enough and pay them more. Except upper level management greed and mid level sadism.
Amazon perhaps more than any other tech company reflects people’s instincts and values. Strategically, Amazon prioritizes speed, efficiency, and low prices because they realize that people almost always react positively to that combination. If Amazon stopped with the faster and faster delivery, someone else would take advantage of it. I think FC workers should be paid more. Maybe Amazon splits its shares in order to lower the price to the point that its more tenable to give more shares to FC workers. But you can’t force them to do that. Think long and hard about what you’d force Amazon to do. Chances are, it’ll have unexpected consequences.

So it's ok if Bernie targets them but not Trump?
Yes because Sanders is a "Socialist" and Trump is supposedly pro-business.
If Bernie and Trump agree on something then you know it’s true
We live in popularist world and not capitalist world. Majority of the tax is being paid by top 10%, however other 90% controls the election outcome. Hence we will get politicians that wants to give out free stuff using tax payers money Workers who have problem with Amazon work environment have two options. 1. Negotiate with Amazon for better work environment 2. Leave and find another better employer. If enough ppl leave, Amazon will be forced to improve work environment. Ppl are not leaving, tells me these ppl will be unemployed(or paid less) if they don't work of Amazon. Hence Amazon should be praised for generating 500+k jobs in US. No need to include government that eventually waste tax payers money or increase government debt.
I miss shopping at stores. There's now a generation that never got to know what that is. The malls aren't getting replaced by green spaces. But that's how it is.
Fee the bern!!
Robots vs socialists.
Bernie for President!
Bernie isn’t right. Consumers want their products instantly. Hell even 2 hours on Prime is too long for some people. With those type of expectations something has to give. Lastly, I am amused when the argument is “well I work for them because I don’t have a choice” You choose to work for them. You made your bed so now sleep in it. Just as there warehouse is surrounded by other warehouses. Warehouse jobs are easy to come by.
None of those arguements seem to explain why you think Bernie is wrong!
