Amazon and Microsoft layoff compensation

I feel really bad about the layoffs, Google is likely up next. How much money did the people who were laid off received? Was it around 15 weeks of base pay?

Friend at Amazon said she got 6 months severance

Amazon JJvN46 Jan 18, 2023

that's in India

Amazon big sighs Jan 18, 2023

Whoa really? What’s her tenure?

Microsoft Codinglife Jan 18, 2023

Amazon USA is not that much, just 2 months plus 1 week of every 6 months

Tableau MachineAI Jan 18, 2023

Heard the same. 60 days on payroll + benefits and then 1 week of base pay for every 6 months of tenure. (Min: 4 weeks, max: 20 weeks)

Amazon NeUI31 Jan 18, 2023

You have 60 days of an internal job search that is two whole months' pay. Severance depends on several years in the org with a min of 4 weeks base pay.

12 + 2n weeks of comp. Looks standard

Amazon zybx3rt Jan 18, 2023

The layoff email only says about the 60 days. How do you know about severance?

Amazon ttltt Jan 18, 2023

The severance or min 4 weeks is part of the standard layoff package. You’ll get that no matter what

Alphabet already did, isn’t it?

Amazon uEax43 Jan 18, 2023
