Amazon asking relocation back

I'm leaving before the end of 2 years and Amazon is asking for the prorated relocation back. What happens to the tax I've paid on this. What's the best thing to do? Also, is it best to deduct this from the last month's paycheck?

They would ask you to payback the amount - taxes. No need to file a claim with IRS

For me I had to pay it in full and reclaim the taxes from IRS

@FXph42 is correct.

Never thought amazon was such a stingy company, asking for relocation back. Shame!! Did you tell them you are a “prime” member?😁

They make us pay for prime. I don't expect anything from this place.

If you have an offer from another company, they can compensate for this loss. Try negotiating if possible

Do they sue if you don't pay up?

Hence the question.

It’ll be sent to collections and ruin your credit score as it’s an unpaid debt.

Fucking Amazon

I had this happen at a prior job. I ended up dragging my feet and was able to negotiate a reduction in the amount owed. I also had to refile my taxes.
