Worked at Amazon for several years and was looking to boomerang but am getting bad signals... I left when I had reorg'd into a role I hated with a manager who was cleaning house, I left, but strongly suspect my last manager left a stain on my progressive record (IC to manager, L5 to L6), but ended my run with a real bad actor as a manager and fear I can never return.... anyone have a way for me to verify my rehire eligibility?
Why do you suspect you are blacklisted? Are you not moving forward with the interview process after talking to recruiters or just want to check to be sure? I ask because I moved from Amazon and suspected the same. I have received emails from multiple recruiters, wondering if that means I'm not blacklisted or emails mean nothing
Same here. Recruiter regular contact me than it goes nowhere. Just last week one asked me for time slots for an interview. Nothing after I replied with the info. Btw I know I am, because I had talked to the person who put me there. He admitted to not fully understanding what he was doing.
I have been getting very fast rejections for roles I am very qualified for. These are for multiple teams in different orgs. Kinda odd to get rejections, not even a recruiter phone screen...I suspect I am blacklisted because my last manager was dirty, and feel like they smile in your face and stabbed me in the back like most of the rest of the that was managed out, but I was at least a strong performer with a solid track record, but once I was out I feel like they are the only logical reason I am hitting immediate rejections left and right
Following. How tf does one get blacklisted
Wow to this question being asked by a workday employee! For every leaver, a termination must be submitted in the he system. Usually there’s a dropdown: would you rehire this person? yes/no In my experience, the “sourcer” does not check for this information and may spam you with opportunities. The hiring manager may check it during cv screen for boomerangs - you may even ask for a referral to the persons previous manager if the person is still at the company.
Yeah I build fin lol
No one in Blind is going to go up to a HR and ask if a random stranger is blacklisted
HR manager here - I’m completely late to this conversation but in case anyone’s still interested figured I’d share how this works at most organizations. As previously mentioned, a standard part of the termination process is documenting whether the employee will be eligible for rehire. If an employee is termed for performance or conduct they’re almost always deemed ineligible for rehire. I can think of only a handful of times an employee who voluntarily left the company was marked ineligible for rehire - that’s really uncommon. Hiring managers are able to request and review documentation about a boomerang candidate’s past performance (annual reviews, etc.) at the company - and surprisingly they almost never do. More commonly they ask colleagues who worked with the candidate in the past for input about the candidate’s previous performance. If you were termed based on performance it’s a safe guess that you’re ineligible for rehire. If you’re not sure, you can call HR and ask them.
Can I DM you?

Obligatory blind’s question: Why Google to Amazon?
Fair question...came into Google from acquisition...and they are near frozen on hiring, my term is coming to an end and am not currently expecting the opportunity to convert to a FTE position given there near hiring freeze
Nest acquisition ?
