So I interviewed for Amazon for an 11 month contract position through a vendor company and the hiring manager said he liked me and would ask the recruiter to continue on with the next steps, that was Tuesday evening and I still haven’t heard anything, is this normal, or was he just blowing smoke?
How do you find contracting jobs?
Harvey Nash, Dice, Allegis to name a few all three of them hire for contract roles for all the big tech firms.
What contract company if I may ask
Harvey Nash
Can you please give me any leads about the contact info?
I’m working as a contractor in amazon and they took around 10days to extend an offer. So this is expected
Thanks for the reply! Well that’s good to know. Did you only meet with the hiring manager on the Amazon side or was there any other interviews?
I had two interviews with the team that i was gonna work with. Interviews were not that hard like a FTE , just basic DSA

Hey yea this is totally normal. Hiring at Amazon can take a while. I’ve switched teams once before and am switching again, both times enough time passed between meeting the manager and team that id given up on both roles, but both went through in the end

Amazon treats its employees like shit and you want to work there as a contractor?! Unless you’re desperate for a gig, choose wisely my friend.
I’ve worked for Microsoft, Twitter and currently for Facebook. I just want them on my resume for at least a year and then I’ll make another move if it’s not a good fit but the role and team seem amazing but yeah the pay is great and my current contract expires 07/31.
What’s the rate if you don’t mind me asking?
