I have been reached out for a data engineer role in Austin by a recruiter and would like to know details on the interview pattern and preperation. Is it heavy SQL and/or Python or ?? appreciate your help. TC: 200k, yoe:5
DE would be heavy SQL and Python. Lots of internal tools. Not bad for Austin.
Medium SQL/ Python no lc kind of questions though, data modelling and best practices in ELT/ETL
No books as such, go through the best practices discussed in MEDIUM that should be enough. Focus on LP which they weigh a lot rather than your tech skills.
Amazon DE focus on Data modeling , spark Df api questions related , sql and etl architecture and lot of Leadership questions. For Apple In phone screening I have been asked serialize and deserialize a binary tree. Is it my bad day or apple DE focus more software engineer then data engineer.
I was asked a question on linked list and a out right reject. I felt the same too. And there’s not much of interview questions available on glassdoor/blind

Yes to spark.. Nothing in specfic to aws if you dont have experience with them.. All DE roles kind of big data roles these days.. They expect you to know the Hadoop concepts
SQL, SQL Performance tuning, medium python scripting, pyspark dataframes,Data modeling and questions on same , ETL,Bigdata knowledge,Hive, architecture,Dw concepts, leadership principles in all rounds and follow up questions.
