Does anyone have info on what will happen to delayed Amazon new grads? - Will they honor offers? - Will teams change? - Will locations change? - Have they finalized headcount yet?
Keep looking elsewhere my friend.
Why is that
Yes, everyone delayed had their offer honored
They may honor offers. They may delay them indefinitely. Teams can and most likely will change. Locations will likely not change unless the location is remote. But the offer at the location may disappear and you may be offered a new location or to decline the offer entirely. Headcount is never final. It changes daily. TLDR: if you are not in a hurry then be patient and even you’ll land somewhere. Probably.
Student programs offers backed by SVP, headcount or not, they had their offers honored and continue to do so
Lots of negativity in this thread and people somehow conflating RTO with Amazon not honoring ASP offers. I am a delayed new grad and my offer was honored. I started in August. My org is expecting to have more new grads start through the end of the year and we had one join a month after I started. You’ll be fine, but feel free to keep looking if it makes you feel more secure / as insurance. Good luck.
Do you remember how many days out you got your background check, relocation, and team assignment?
In our org the interns get the boot now. They were promised positions, delayed, delayed , and now booted. The company is not to be trusted. Period.
This is a lie. Amazon has not rescinded a single offer. 2023 interns are waiting on offers, which ASP is expecting to roll out soon, look up WWAS GTP on wiki. Not a single former intern who was given an offer has been rescinded. Some were unfortunately laid off in April though yes. ASP’s offers are backed by SVPs and orgs only had the option to delay and honor, not rescind.
I comment on what I see. You are welc9me to disagree.
Let’s be clear about the difference between an inclined decision and an actual offer. Offers should be honored but it’s never a guarantee. My org plans on flat headcount throughout 2024. TC: 235k
I'm referring to new grad offers that student programs gave in Summer 2022 but delayed in Spring 2023.
We’ve swapped over to a new model. The headcount for prospective new grad hires will come from the Student Program and is outside the control of individual service teams. That being said, with how little headcount we are planning on receiving next year, I wouldn’t have too much hope. If you have been waiting since Summer 2022 in hopes of a return offer and haven’t received it by now in Fall 2023, look elsewhere.
Never trust AMAZON… ruined my life by promising remote and now asking to relocate. Got an offer from a local company 10miles away, but opted for Amazon as they offered me remote. Now lost mental peace and have to search for a switch again in this stupid market… ( my wife is working here and my kids school)… Sucks 🤦♂️ better stay away from a company that dont have values
If you got a written offer and signed it, you will start. I was delayed from January to July and started. Not a single person who has been delayed has not started on their postponed start date. Don’t listen to the doomers who don’t know shit about amazon or new grad offers
Do you remember how many days out you got your background check, relocation, and team assignment?
No, sorry. I think you can probably ask recruiter for timelines , but they aren’t exact. I think it’s not entirely automated and recruiter has to push a button or something
Amazon is overall not a company you can trust or rely upon. It’s the same company which hired thousands of engineers with remote only position during COVID and now asking them to relocate near the office or resign. Which is a way of Amazon to layoff people without paying severance. Keep the offer and get a back up offer, just in case Amazon do not honor the offer.
