I got laid off frm amazon and now I joined goldman sachs. Goldman Sachs asks my final settlement for tax related info... Amazon provided me only one final settlement pdf which includes severance pay. I can't let goldman Sachs know abt dis. Wen I called amazon erc to provide settlemebt doc without severance, they denied the req. Wat shud I do now
Why ca’t you let them know?
Ask an accountant how to report the amazon income and hopefully substitute the amazon document with some form. I’d also ask the cpa what excuse to give to gd for this
Were you PIPed or put on dev list?
They are the same.
Ok, didn't know that.
Was it a lay off for the org or was perf based ?
How much was severance package?
How does the new employer have anything to do with taxes related to getting laid off from a previous employer? I don’t understand why they are asking for this.
Because GS is still a bank, they are insane reporting rules they have to follow.
Are you sure they are asking it for tax related info?
Ask them what they need it for. Sounds fishy. No employer ever asked me for anything like that.
Just share the w-2
For tax purposes, they don’t need the statement, just the numbers from it.
Still number is huge
No one cares. For all they know, you got a huge bonus or stock vest.
