Just got rejection from my onsite interview, which I though went really well. Of course, feedback vague to non-existent. The first 2 interviewers (one or both of which were bar-raisers) went really well. Interview four was with the hiring manager, and he opened with "I'm going to be transparent, we want people to start off in a role that is the right for them". Then he spent next 15 minutes or so getting a better understanding of my background, techncial skills, the type of work I want to be doing, etc.) (As reference, my phone interviews were with an adjacent team, but they moved me directly to onsite with this team) Going in, I didn't think this was the best role for my background. My impression at the end of the day based on how things went, the above convo was that they were going to place me in a different role on the team. I asked the recruiting coordinator whether I should keep applying, and he said not in the short term. Very vaguely hinted that other managers may want to look at my application, but did not sound overly encouraging about it. My question is: if I passed the interviewer (or at least 1/2 bar raisers), and was being shopped around for other roles, would they tell me as part of my rejection? Or stay quiet until(if) someone else is interested?
OP, can you please describe your interview experience. I have one coming up for FA...virtual though
They would have told you. Don’t take it personal, focus on your abilities, improve them and most importantly move on
