I interviewed for a non tech role at Amazon last Wednesday the 8th for what I believe is a L5 role. I thought it went well. I have an 11 hour time zone difference from Seattle. I am American but just working as an expat overseas so I guess this is why they just couldn't call me. The recruiter setup a chime for tomorrow to follow up on my on site interview with an email with the subject "Amazon Follow up". I've seen of people getting rejected on these calls, but has anyone received a positive result? YOE 9 TC 125 #amazon
My experience after onsite was that the recruiter scheduled time for a “status update”. I felt it would be a reject, but they extended an offer. Non tech L7, Bay area.
What role
Was this with Amazon? or which company?
So I just had the call from the recruiter, and they told me that the team really liked me but thought I was a better fit for another role. The recruiter will setup a call with the new HM as an introductory call and she said that if it goes well, the job is mine. That the call is simply to align well, not an interview. No need for further calls.
What is the exact role?
Got same email today. Call tomorrow. This an L7 role. Not sure what to expect.
What was the outcome?
No offer. No recycle. Wait 6 months but probably at least 1 year. I must have sucked.

Hypocrisy of Indians
They offered me a lower level position so not a reject but not super positive
I got a reject call and offered a lowered level position I declined
I'm not so positive about it either. Extremely disappointing if it turns out to be a big no.
