Amazon lab126...?
Hi folks, I've been contacted by a recruiter to discuss opportunities at Amazon lab126, wanted to know if anyone has insight into what it's like to work there. Yeah, supposedly amazons R&D HW arm of the company. I can imagine there are lots of high profile, secret projects and HW being developed and tested. Expect lots of pressure from above to deliver above and beyond results, with little to know documentation or requirements from anyone on how or what you are actually supposed to be delivering in the end... You just hope that what you interpret and create from your understanding is along the lines of what they want and that they are happy with it! ๐ I'd say AWS or stay away from Amazon as an engineer. For now at least. You are going to be slave labor in the HW dev space working for them right now.
The only reason it's called lab126 was to avoid CA taxes. It was fraud and I'm surprised they got away with it. How many CA state senators got paid off to habe amazon go tax free for so many years??

My friend in Lab126 travels to China for 20-30% time and works 10-12 hrs/ day avg. And also rents a 4k apartment.

A company that surprisingly still survives..crappiest of the processes and none from the leadership actually understand how to appropriately develop a product ...not recommended compared to other places
