I learned just now that I am impacted due to recent layoff at Amazon. My team was Alexa funded. Also learned at least half of the team is impacted. Getting severance package of 60 days and a week for every 6 months of tenure. I will be kept on LOA (leave of absence) for 60 days to find internal transfers. Please reach me out if you are hiring at Amazon (SWE roles, Java and Cloud side development). #amazon #amazonaws #layoff #amazon-layoff
Sorry to hear that. Hope you will find another position soon.
I'm so sorry
Seriously OP, ask HR to release your RSU’s
Sorry to hear that, hope you find a better job in no time.
What kind of role are you looking for
Software Development Engineer
The 60 day LOA is that paid?
How many years in Amazon? Did they do LIFO layoffs? Sorry to hear bud, stay strong in there 🤍 🇴 🇳 🇪 🇹 🇷 🇮 🇧 🇪 🇴 🇳 🇪 🇱 🇴 🇻 🇪
Sorry to hear that, how did you learn about it were you invited to a group call or did your manager do 1:1 with you ?
That severance is pretty bad compared to Stripe’s. Hang in there. Wish you find something soon.
Do you still have access to the internal jobs site while on LOA? If so there are still open roles for SDE.
there are no jobs internally as well. All teams have frozen. The internal job thing is a hoax Amazon is playing the media.
How tha fuq would u know
1 week for 6 months. That’s how they value our tenure. Hope you’re fine OP.
That’s standard. Here it’s 2 weeks per year.
That’s actually generous. It’s often 1 week/year.
