Amazon layoff today
I was one from today 7am let go email I am on H1B , have question regarding when my 60-day grace period is going to start They have said it’s going to be no access from today and no work for Amazon.. but will get 2 months salary + severance Does that mean my 60day period started or is my 60 day begins after 2 months from now ?
You are employed with Amazon for next 60 days. You will be in phone tool, payroll, guess chime access too. Just that your full time job is to find another job internally or externally. Guess your question is on immigration grace period, that should start after 60 days (if you are not able to secure a job within next 60 days).
How can he find job internally without corporate access?
HR will provide resources. A detailed document will be shared. I have gotten a few employees back in Amazon. It is very easy, their applications will go like internal transfer.

120 days op, it starts from last day you were salaried and you will be on payroll for two more months
- no work from today itself - 60 days you will be in company payroll and that starts today. So, Your last working day with the company will be after 60 days - severance will be the base pay of the salary for the x months - Notice period duration salary will also be paid - you will have no access to the laptop, maybe for 2 hrs to download the documents. - they will provide a email account where you can raise questions if you have any and submit any pending reimbursement bills. - you can leave before 60 days as well if you get a job somewhere else, you will still be getting the 60 days salary + severance - in these 60 days they will post internal jobs in which you can apply. There is a great chance you can get back the opportunity if you have stayed with the company for a longer period of time. If you need any more information please feel free to DM me.
