A friend of mine is a VP - Talent Acquisition of an east coast based staffing firm. She works remotely. She has an offer from Amazon as Manager talent acquisition, level 6. She is not sure if she is doing the right thing by going at L6 or should she wait and try for L7.
Did she join Amazon?
Current job title doesn't matter that much. Small companies always have inflated job titles. How many years of experience? How big of an organization does she manage now? Is the L6 salary competitive? Coming in at L7 requires showing you're better than 50% of current L7s which can be tough, but if she's close she should wait. Getting promoted L6 to L7 internally takes a few years minimum.
She has 15+ years of experience Manages a team of a little over 50.
