Asians - what are your thoughts on asian female white male ?
Amazon just gave me an offer, but I am pretty unhappy about being lowballed given my Onsites went pretty decent: Base = 62k GBP Signing bonus = 22k GBP RSUs = 46 stocks/4 yrs Role = SDE2 FYI, I do have other offers (not in London, nor in FAANG) but still want to see if this offer is worth negotiating further. Thoughts pls?
Sounds about right for Amazon in London (that’s mid band salary for MSFT SDE2 in London). You probably have room to negotiate a few grands up but not a lot more.
Pretty low! People get comparable offers in India. I know other companies in London that pay more than this. What’s your current Tc / yoe and location?
62k GBP is around 60 lakhs. People don't get this much fixed salary in Amazon India for SDE2
Have you ever thought of going to US to do software development job in companies like FB, Google. You should expand your knowledge with respect to cost of living of different places and packages offered by companies at different location before comparing it with India.
46 stocks 🤬 What stocks are they giving you in addition to amazon?
Seems Amazon doesn't pay much in London? Go for contracting
Too low offer. Ask base 65K. Too low stocks also, but the problem is that vesting period is bad: 5%/15%/40%/40%. Considering that majority people leave after 2 year, i would negotiate stocks a bit, unless you plan to stay 4 years.
Amazon is a very frugal company. They’ll offer you the absolute lowest they can and not a penny more. If you really want to work for amazon, you better get used to this!
You should come to the US or Canada. I get paid more than you as a non-tech L4 and you probably do more meaningful work
Don’t think that this comparison is valid. If you transfer from London to Seattle, as SDE2 you will get 135k base + a little more stocks. It is not the same as join Amazon in Seattle.
I guess my point was that if compensation is a priority then maybe OP should move away from London
I assume h1b is not easy
That’s considerably lower than an E4 FB offer in London (70k+ base, $120k stock range). If you want london, try getting a london offer from the other faang offers you have
90k GBP per year for Amazon in London. Sde2. Is that comparable to Facebook London comp for E4
Looks pretty standard for London.
Have u worked in London? Or had an offer from London?
