Went through a full loop interview for an l6 role at Amazon. The recruiter called after the loop and said they are not going to make an offer but encouraged me to apply for other roles. He also said he has told his co-ordinator im available again. However , he told me me that I will have to do the full loop again. Do we have a cool down period after failing to make it through the loop ?#
Don’t apply they are just hiring internal and clearing the mess. You are wasting your time. Why they will give you preference if they would already get the candidates internally who are trying to their ass off to get a role because their teams got raped brutally by SVPs
In my experience with 100+ interviews at AWS, if you didn’t faceplant, your cooldown period would be a year. If you did pretty badly, two years. If you did something outlandish that got you a strong no hire (very very rare, usually means you obviously cheated on a tech question or admitted to something blatantly unethical), you’d get blacklisted. Conversely, if you did well but not well enough for an offer and a down level was not available, six months. I’ve never personally seen someone be able to do a full loop again immediately UNLESS it was for a completely different role type that the team thought you’d be a fit for, e.g. no offer as an SDE but the loop thought you’d make a great TPM.
Dodged a bullet Amazon is trash, good only if you are homeless or unemployed
If they encouraged you to re-apply you were an “on the fence” candidate and were good enough but they couldn’t make the offer, probably for reasons outside of your control and your loop. No cool down. They’d say if you have one
Standard recycle is 2 years but recruiters seem to push people back through after 6 months
