At how desperately evil and toxic it can be. The true toxic hellhole company of this world lmao. The “just walk out” stores from Amazon were basically a bunch of people hired in India looking at the camera feeds and assigning products to customers. Did you think it was some advanced AI computer vision thing figuring out customers and the products they were buying? No it was a bunch of low paid workers in India looking at camera feeds of people taking products of the shelf and putting in their bags. It’s like finding that a vending machine isn’t automatic but actually has a poor Indian worker locked inside forced to take money and send out the right drink/snack. Amazing Amazon. Lmao!! Super advanced way of outsourcing American jobs to India. #amazon #outsourcing.
I doubt if this is a true depiction. More likely they were labeling interactions for training and validation. Amazon is toxic in other ways.
Most ML works that way though. Outsource annotations to crowdsource or mechanical turk where they can pay them cents/tag.
This tech would be more powerful than AI so I see no problem
Well, human labeling is obviously required to train whatever models are being used. Am I missing something here?
They are annotators, all companies have them. Agree with the amazon toxicity part, this is just not a good example
They have people labeling the videos for benchmarking and performance evaluation.
I think this was for April Fools, in case you are really falling to it.
you have to go back
Send link of source? If true this is bananaland… oh wait 🙈
Holy shit is this real? Lmao. So there was no technology at all?
Is it that surprising that it came from the company that made mechanical turk?
I'm surprised so many people don't know how ML training works
