The worst part of ordering stuff from Amazon are those brown boxes. Every time I throw them in recycle bin I will think of all trash that is generated and makes me think about buying from brick and mortar store. To me they took what I dread the most about buying from Amazon and made it the logo. Now every time I open the app, I’m getting reminded of all the trash being generated.. Does anyone else feel that way?
And how do you think things arrive in these brick and mortar shops ? That’s right, in boxes.
Come on man. Don’t be such a sheep. They don’t come in individual boxes at the store. There is no comparison
@otmc - there are many studies that show shopping online is more eco-friendly than shopping at brick and mortar stores. Because amazon's delivery trucks are not suburban soccer moms or middle aged men driving a whole ass minivan to get one bottle of wine or beer. They have planned routes and filled to the brim.
The subtlety of Google's made it way funnier. Microsoft's is just too over the top and not even funny (I have no issue with body-part humor; this case just wasn't implemented well)
Seems like Amazon has been endlessly and unsuccessfully trying to cut down on overpackaging forever now. They used to always use cardboard boxes that were like 4x the size of the actual item on top of the factory packaging, then they swung completely the other way to the "frustration-free" option as a default which ensured that whatever you ordered would often show up completely mangled from the carrier throwing it all over the place with no protection, would have an ugly impossible-to-remove shipping label on the packaging that ruined resale value and would end up getting lost somewhere along the line for smaller items. Their current system seems like it's a random lottery with the level of packaging your order gets that doesn't account for how fragile it is or anything.
What's frustrating is that UPS is only carrier that consistently delivers packages that look like they've been to hell and back. If Amazon and others made them clean up their act, frustration free may have been more successful.
UPS is still way better than OnTrac was back when Amazon used them exclusively for all the 1 and 2 day Prime shipping a couple years ago. They'd constantly lie about the status of your package in their tracking system, claim it was undeliverable even with very clear dropoff instructions and would give you the pick-up slip treatment after barely knocking just once and waiting maybe 30 seconds for anything that needed a signature.
our pitch is “guaranteed authentic” and ebays sneaker commercials literally just made their pitch “authenticity guaranteed”. I don’t think you guys have much room to talk about branding
@stockx how are things at ur company. One of our mktg directors joined as vp that got me interested in the company. Would you be able to refer me for a product role?
dm me
Lol .. I thought my phone is having issue in loading that icon
AFAIK cardboard is biodegradable so pales in comparison to the plastic that’s on the item from store or otherwise
The oversized boxes are jam packed with plastic to protect the item
IDK the old one looked like a wanker.
People in Europe complained the original iteration of the new blue-tape one looked like a Hitler stache so they had to scramble to change it
No. Nobody. But the new logo sucks as all new logos in history. At least till the next one will show up.
The worst part about ordering from Amazon is supporting Amazon 🤢 try supporting that local brick and mortar, not having to throw away the boxes or see the logo, and getting to make a big positive difference for people in your community 📢📢📢
I want my stuff to come the next day without leaving my house and I want to have the option of returning the item no questions asked if I feel the need for it. Once brick and mortars actually evolve to suit the needs of customers in 2021 maybe then I'll start shopping at them.
