Amazon notice + PTO

I have 3 weeks of vacation leave left. Can I give 2 weeks of notice and then take my 3 weeks of PTO before leaving Amazon? Could I be asked to leave earlier? In that case would they pay me back my 3 weeks of PTO?

You can be asked to leave earlier, for example you manager may say they don’t want you to serve 2 weeks. If that happens, don’t take it personally, it may just be a burden for your manager to try to find a 2 weeks worth of work. I have not seen it happen often, but have seen it happen when someone would take 3-4 weeks vacation and then come back and resign with 2 weeks notice. PTO will be paid if you leave without burning it off. All in all, treat your employer with respect and they will do same for you.

"PTO will be paid if you leave without burning it off." This may be true of Amazon in WA state. My experience is this isn't true of all states. In some states the employer has to pay out unused PTO, but there are many states which don't require that. I recommend checking the labor laws where you live.

You are paid out PTO upon leaving or being fired.

Left Amazon in 2021. I gave my 2 weeks notice and I had 2 weeks of vacation i did not use. My manager let me finish my 2 weeks, i thought i was gonna be axed based on many internet histories about it, i suppose it depends on your boss. They paid me my 2 weeks vacation the next paid period after i left.

Take the leave. Go back for a day and put in your notice. Make sure your stock vest is before your last day but don’t tell your manager.

Take the PTO and then give 2 weeks notice, or give 2 weeks notice and 3 weeks PTO will be cashed out for you in last pay check
