Amazon offer - within band?

Hi everyone, Proud to say I received a full-time offer after interning in Amazon Finance over the summer. The full-time offer is for a rotational program, with one rotation being in Seattle and the other rotations being in other cities/towns, with a focus on servicing FCs. Over the summer, I was first introduced to Blind and discovered that Amazon had a fairly weak reputation on this site, particularly with regards to non-tech work and comps. However, I feel like I was paid pretty fairly (did around 40-45 hours of work a week over the internship). Here's the salary breakdown. Over the summer: nearly 5k/month, with a 4.35k prorated housing package (we got all of the money even though we didn't need to move - virtual internship) as well as a randomized 1k bonus. This worked out to over 7k/month, and I ended up making nearly 20k pre-tax by the end of the internship. I received a full-time L4 offer (for a rotational program - non-Seattle so lower cost of living) that was as follows: Base: 68k Signing Bonus: 17k + 10k 2nd year bonus RSUs: 50k stock (4 year vest) - the vesting pattern wasn't great, Amazon's standard 5/15/40/40 Relo: 7.5k one time payment for 2 year program TC: 100.5k if I prorate out the RSUs and the Relocation package This seems pretty high for FAANG finance to me. Am I just an ignorant newbie who doesn't know the Financial Analyst market, or is this a strong salary - particularly for a position where I won't be in Seattle for a year. How do other tech entry-level finance roles (Google, Apple, other FAANG) compare to this offer? Please let me know if I am completely in the wrong about my excitement here - it could play a huge role in whether I continue to recruit. #finance

Congrats on the offer. And yes, you should be proud. A few things. 1. Location? Not Seattle isn't enough. NYC and SF BA have higher cost of living. So Cal and Boston are also up there. 2. Number of RSUs? 3. In my opinion, your first year TC is 68k+17k=85k. Some might argue your first year TC is 68k+17k+ 5% of your RSUs. If I were you, I would take the role, prove myself in it and transition to a different role. Preferably a tech role. Finance roles are the lowest paid at Amazon. Good luck!

I've heard of finance people transitioning to product management and software development. The guy who became SDE had to drop levels, but still got a raise. What are you interested in?

Get a mentor or mentors. First prove yourself in your role. Have a chat with your manager.

Accept it with a grain of salt. This shit will go down soon. Always watch out. Take any signs from your management with utmost seriousness. One negative feedback, get the fck out of there. Again, get the fck outta there. They want those RSUs real bad and super stingy. So they will try to nail you pretty bad.
