Is it usual when Amazon makes an offer with the calculated stock appreciation in Target Compensation already (I figured there is like +15% growth/year)? Or should I negotiate on this basis? Also, when Amazonians talk about standard bands here, i.e. 180k-270k for L6 PM defined by the company for new hires – do those include that stock appreciation part within as well? TC: 295k
If your current TC is 295k, Amzn will not beat it by long margins.

Not only the recruiters but all of your target comp and stock refreshers in the future are based off this too.
This is completely standard both for new offers and stock grants later. It’s 15%. You can negotiate for higher target but you won’t get them to change the formula for your case. The bands are TCT bands, and hence when stock is granted for two years out it uses the 30 day average as the stock planning price, then applies the 15% yoy for the future grant.

TCT is target compensation target. They use the stock appreciation formula (estimated) and base plus any cash bonuses being paid in a given comp year. They use this to determine how much stock to grant.
