Amazon sent me an online assessment and after the assessment, recruiter invited to onsite directly bypassing the phone interview . Is this normal ? My profile is not stellar or anything. I'm pretty average. More importantly , should I be worried that I'll be interviewing with some teams which are so desparate to hire people that they will interview anyone ?? I'll be interviewing with amazon lab 126 in bay area. Tc : 150 (cash) at a series A startup + stock options , I excluded it in TC because we are a sinking ship.....4 yoe
Same thing happened to me. It was with Alexa. Aced the on-site. Offer was really nice. They said I could work in any team in Alexa.
It's an experiment they're trying since apparently the online assessments have better offer rates than traditional phone screens....
I wonder how effective it is though !!!!!
When is the date of the interview
Yet to schedule
Was this the 3 hour proctored assessment?
Not 3 hour.. about 1 hour
Yes, I have heard of this before. I personally think it's BS. Get a bunch of bad candidates this way.
So you are saying that onsite is easier than phone screen? Its very easy to fake phone screen though. Doesn’t make sense though.
No the online assessment is easier than phone screen, even easier to cheat.

Normal, happened to me. I did interview with a super lame team, but got my offer transferred over to a very good team.
